www.alexashwood.com ("This Website") is operated by Alex Ashwood. Any reference to "I" or "me" in this privacy policy refers to Alex Ashwood. Your information privacy is important to me. Here is This Website's privacy policy.

2. Modification

I reserve the right to make updates to this Privacy Policy at any time, and without giving prior notice, by simply posting an updated privacy policy here at this page. This policy will be viewable on the site from the link at the foot of each of the site's other pages. Please check periodically for updates. Your use of the site constitutes your acceptance of the current Privacy Policy.

3. Email List

This Website may feature an email list and email signup forms enabling you to subscribe. By submitting your email address you consent to receiving my emails until such time as you unsubscribe. Emails from me may contain promotional content from which I may earn commissions on sales. My email lists are managed by Aweber, Inc. and hosted on their servers - and the policy governing the manner in which such email addresses are utilized can be found at their email permission guidelines page here: http://www.aweber.com/permission.htm

When you sign up for my email list, the email address you provide is stored and managed in my Aweber.com account. Aweber also stores IP address and geolocation information such as city, state and zip code (personally identifiable information - "PII"). This information is accessible to me and my team members but is only used for the purposes of sending emails through Aweber. I may make a "safety backup" of the email list but I do not do additional data mining, nor do I distribute, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information to others. This information is retained by me until deleted. I take the best reasonable measures I can to ensure that your information is safe: Physical locks protect my premises, strong passwords are used, and access to the information is restricted to my team, who have been given a strict training in data security best practices. Note that some of my team members are located outside of the EU, however they are under strict instruction not to copy or move any PII outside of the Aweber App.

I do not add subscribers to me email lists unless they have expressly requested it by entering their email address. In the unlikely event that someone else has entered your email address by accident and you start receiving email from me, please simply unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link that is at the foot of each email I send to my lists.

If you decide you no longer wish to receive emails from me, you can unsubscribe easily (withdraw consent) using the unsubscribe link provided at the foot of every email we send. Unsubscribing removes your email address from my mail-out list immediately; however your information is accessible to me in Aweber's database until I manually delete it. "Unsubscribed" email addresses, together with the other personal information recorded as mentioned above, are manually deleted from my Aweber database (every 3 to 4 weeks approximately) and once deleted, this info is no longer accessible to me ("forgotten"). I can provide an expedited deletion if requested by email ("right of erasure").

EU subscribers can also request a copy of the information I hold about them and can request rectification or deletion.

4. Children's Online Privacy

This Website does not knowingly collect information from, or sell to, children under the age of 13.

5. Data Collection / Third Party Services

As you use This Website, some information may be collected. Data collection and processing practices of This Website are set forth below. EU visitors can request a copy of the information I hold about them and can request rectification or deletion ("right to be forgotten").

Analytics:

Analytics on This Website will be handled by Plausible.io. Plausible's Analytics does not set cookies or use personally identifying information and claims to be fully GDPR compliant. Here is Plausible's data policy.

Log Files:

As with most web sites, logs are automatically created which may register the IP address and other information such as the date, time, browser and other details of the access of This Website. I may on occasion use this information for general administrative, diagnostic or market research purposes.

Awstats:

This Website's hosting provider provides typical cPanel server-side statistics utilities, such as Awstats. Such utilities may collect user demographics such as the user's country and city of location, IP address, browser type, and keywords used in searches used to find this site - and I may use such data for the purposes of optimizing the "performance" and quality of This Website, and for market research.

Facebook Fans:

If you have "liked" and are therefore a member of one of my Facebook fan pages, I am able to view your Facebook profile with the same level of privilege as any other regular Facebook user is able to view it. I am also able to view "Facebook Insights" and as such am considered a "data controller". I do not scrape, harvest, copy or process this information in any special way and we do not store it in any archive other than the Facebook fan page itself. My interaction with our fans consists of moderating comments, occasional extended dialogue (and occasionally banning users). Removing yourself from one of my fan pages is simple, just visit the fan page and 'unlike'.

Tracking pixels:

I do not currently utilize tracking / retargeting pixels on This Website.

I have taken reasonable measures to protect such information of yours - whether personally or non-personally identifying, as may reside on my computer systems - such as password access, firewall, and physical locks.
